Join us for a celebratory evening while we raise awareness and much-needed funds to sustain our charitable programmes in Malaysia. A special night awaits, with a choral performance by The Messengers, a special performance by Malaysia’s first jazz harpist Dr. Jessenzzth Chua, a musical number by the children of The Salvation Army Malaysia and stories of resilience and hope from the beneficiaries of The Salvation Army Malaysia.
Help Tommy and his friends fulfill their dreams today
Tommy* is one of The Salvation Army Malaysia’s 300+ beneficiaries.
He is 12 years old and dreams of a future filled with opportunity and impact.
He hopes to become a businessman or pursue his strengths in football and singing, while growing his interest in technology.
But beyond personal success, Tommy wants to make a positive difference by helping protect nature and working toward a more peaceful world.
His father walked out from the family when he was very young, leaving his mother in survival mode. In desperation, the mother sent Tommy to The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home in 2020 and so now he can focus on his dreams.
As a non-profit, non-government organisation, we depend on the generosity of the Malaysian public to assist fellow Malaysians in need.
When funding stops, their future stops too.

The 2025 Ode to Hope Project successfully raised a total of RM116,358.00 through a combination of sponsorships, ticket sales, and public donations. The funds raised were channelled directly towards The Salvation Army’s priority care programmes in Malaysia, more specifically to support our residential care homes for children in Penang, Ipoh and Kuching under Project HEAL, which focuses on holistic healing and long‑term recovery for vulnerable children and their families.
Additionally, Ode To Hope supported care for the elderly at Salvation Army homes in Malaysia, contributing to the ongoing provision of safe accommodation, daily care, and emotional and spiritual support for older residents.

The Messengers
Since 2010, this group of passionate singers have been using their talents to raise funds for beneficial causes. The choir is under the direction of Khoo Hooi Lay, a renowned musician, educator, and choir conductor
Dr. Jessenzzth Chua
Known as Malaysia’s first jazz harpist, Dr Jessenzzth is the Principal Harpist of the Penang Symphony Orchestra and is the Founder and Director of Harpzy, an academy dedicated to advancing harp education in Malaysia and nurturing the next generation of harpists.

Penang Children’s Home Care Centre
20 boys aged 7 to 17 years old currently call The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home Care Centre their home.
The children have troubled pasts, and being at the home allows them to rise above their challenges and be the best versions of themselves. Most children are from low-income families are unable to contribute to the costs of running the home.
Adam’s* Voice of Hope
Adam’s dysfunctional family was unable to protect him from the dangers of the world. Since he was 7, he can be found wandering the streets while depending on the public’s generosity for food and a place to rest while his parents are away. His father will pick him up from the same spot every evening to go home, and he occasionally goes to bed hungry.
Adam was enrolled into The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home in early 2025 after being referred to by a concerned member of the public to keep him safe. Today, the 9-year-old knows the satisfaction of warm meals made with love.
Paul* Finds Safety
Paul grew up hearing about his father, but has never met him. His mother supported him with her salary as a food delivery driver and he grew up under the care of his grandparents. His grandfather became unwell and his mother has to put in more hours at work to cover his medical costs, and his grandmother had to focus on caregiving duties. As a result, Paul was placed at The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home in 2022.
Paul is thankful he can now focus on his studies and the Standard 3 student enjoys Mathematics as his favourite subject. He hopes to be a policeman in the future as he has a keen sense of justice and peace.
The Salvation Army Malaysia also manages residential homes for children and the elderly , a special education centre and afterschool centres for underserved children across Malaysia. Tax-deductible receipts for donations made can be given upon request.
